Corrections, disputes, and removals

Malaysia Homestay Guide is an independent directory of homestay businesses across Malaysia. Your listing is built from publicly available business information: your name, address, phone number, website, hours, and services come from what you publish online. Your score and review summary are generated by a single, published rubric applied uniformly to every homestay, using public Google reviews as the source. Listing your homestay here is free, and no payment can ever change your score or position in the directory. This page explains what you can request and how we handle it. Corrections to your details

We fix factual fields (homestay name, address, phone number, website, opening hours, and services offered) when you provide the correct information and supply something to verify it against, such as a link to your website or Google Business Profile. Once a correction is made, it stays in place through all future data refreshes. You do not need to resubmit the same correction.

Disputes about your score

Scores are never hand-edited by our team. If you dispute your score, you are claiming the underlying data is wrong: the listing is matched to the wrong business, reviews are attributed to the wrong homestay, or our summary misrepresents what reviewers actually wrote. We re-check the sources and regenerate your listing. A dispute is not a request for a higher number, and we do not negotiate scores.

Removal requests

We remove listings when the homestay is permanently closed, when the listing is a duplicate, or when the business falls outside our directory's scope. Our monthly verification cycle automatically detects and removes closed businesses. If your listing is accurate and in scope, we may decline your removal request and will explain our decision plainly.

Response times

Every request receives an acknowledgment within 5 business days. Confirmed removals are actioned within 7 days. Declined requests come with a reason.
