Useful details include your check-in and check-out dates, number of guests (and whether that includes children), the area or town you want to stay in, and anything that matters to you: parking for a big family car, proximity to a pasar malam or the nearest beach, whether you need a place that can host a small gathering, or if you're travelling with an infant and need a cot. If you already have a homestay in mind from our listings, mention its name.

Homestays in Malaysia are often family-run, so replies come at different speeds depending on the host. Most people hear back within a couple of days, though it can take longer during busy periods like school holidays and festive weekends. If your dates are close, say so in your message and mention that you need a quick answer.
